VP - Engineering

Job Description
  • VP Engineering, with experience of managing agile development teams, will be responsible for creating the end-to-end technology roadmap of a fast-growing company.
  • Candidate will be hiring, grooming, motivating and leading a dynamic team to support scaling up of the tech stack for the Company and will be responsible for ensuring that products meet design requirements, and deliver a delightful experience for users. II. Responsibilities
  • Defining technology roadmap envisioning the tech stacks required to scale the business with a long-term technology vision.
  • At least 10 years of total working experience of which at least 7-8 years should have been in leading and managing a team or teams responsible for the development and implementation of solutions and frameworks to develop and / or test web and mobile applications.
  • Understand software delivery in a start-up environment balanced with the rigor needed for sustainable and maintainable solutions.
  • Experience in a senior leadership position responsible for building, motivating and leading high-performing teams (at least 50+).
  • Extensive, demonstrable experience building complex consumer-facing digital products and internal facing systems across the web and mobile applications in demanding environments. Experience working in Retail, Payments, or a Fintech environment would be beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience in software engineering best practices including agile, TDD and BDD, continuous integration and delivery, microservices etc.
  • Very strong analytical skills to be able to manage complex Page 3 of 4 problems using several techniques.
  • Expert level proficiency in understanding technology landscape encompassing
  • Should have previous experience in defining and setting a vision along with the plan which needs to be implemented to meet the end goal. Should have evaluated situations, taken accountability for decisions, issues, etc. in the short, medium, and longer[1term.
  • Strong communication skills of complex and sophisticated ideas to a range of key stakeholders, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders internal and external to the organization.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills to align several potentially conflicting views with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to challenge team and individual objectives and trust people to get on with them, share clear expectations about required performance levels, rewards success and addresses performance issues quickly and fairly, treats team members with honesty, respect, and compassion.
  • Challenges systems, processes, and people to achieve business objectives using an expert knowledge.
Job Requirement
  • Programming languages like java, python or javascript
  • Open-source solutions and frameworks like selenium, Appium, restassured etc.
  • Developing and testing web and mobile applications (both android and ios)
  • An understanding of and working with different relational and transactional databases
  • Data analytics and related areas of expertise
  • Ci/cd including dev-ops and usage of Jenkins, cucumber, maven or equivalent.
  • BE, B.Tech, ME, M.Tech
